Dr. Campasano founded Forward Performance because she believes that quality, patient-centered physical therapy can help people get the most out of life.
After playing Division-1 soccer at Northern Arizona University, she attended the University of Pittsburgh and received her doctorate in Physical Therapy (the #2 program in the U.S.). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in orthopedics and manual therapy and carries the designation of a “Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists” (FAAOMPT), the highest subspecialty attainable in the physical therapy field, accounting for less than 3% of all physical therapists.
Dr. Campasano combines her love for sports with movement analysis, manual therapy, and neurodynamics to improve her patient’s mobility and quality of life. Her clinical approach is heavily focused on functional movement analysis and incorporating manual therapy techniques and therapeutic corrective exercise to each of her patient’s individualized treatment programs. This approach has proven successful with MLB, NFL, MLS, and PGA athletes, professional runners and dancers, weekend warriors, or those who just want to perform better doing the activities they love.
Rose Armstrong is a highly experienced Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) with over 30 years of expertise in sports medicine and rehabilitation. A native of Iowa, she earned her degree in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa, where she was both a student-athlete and an athletic trainer. Her time on the softball field sparked her passion for combining athletics with healthcare, leading her to pursue a career in sports medicine.
Rose was accepted into the University of Iowa’s Athletic Training program, where she gained valuable experience working with the Hawkeye football and wrestling teams. She further honed her skills during her athletic training internship with the women’s tennis team at Drake University. Seeking new opportunities, Rose moved to Phoenix, where she began her professional career as an Athletic Trainer with the John C. Lincoln Institute for Sports Medicine and the Paradise Valley School District. She worked in both clinical physical therapy and as Head Athletic Trainer at Horizon High School and North Canyon High School.
Rose’s growing interest in rehabilitation led her to join the St. Joseph’s Center for Sports Medicine, where she contributed to the rehabilitation team’s efforts. Subsequently, she helped launch Camelback Sports Therapy, serving as vice president and overseeing the operations of two clinics across the Valley for 21 years. Before joining Forward Performance, Rose was responsible for generating business opportunities at Foothills Sports Medicine, a division of Confluent Health, in the West Valley.
Throughout her career, Rose has provided athletic training and rehabilitation services to a wide range of athletes, including those in Olympic development, professional sports, collegiate programs, and high school teams, as well as recreational athletes. She is deeply passionate about supporting individuals on their health and recovery journeys. Rose is certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), and the Kinesio Taping Association International (KTAI). Outside of her professional endeavors, Rose is an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and being outdoors. She is also actively involved in Life Teen youth ministry, where she supports the spiritual development of young people in her community.
